brite is a new small and independent publishing company that began operating in August 2025, with our first book publicly launched the following month. Our aim is to produce high quality fiction and non-fiction in the areas of fantasy, history, science fiction, and science fact.

Darren is a published author and freelance writer in a career spanning three decades. He leads the company in providing a new and exciting publishing platform for new and established authors in an industry where the big publishers are actively down-sizing their lists.
Debra Purcell
Debra has 30 years experience managing business and office environments. She comes to brite as both Chief Financial Officer and Office Manager, bringing her extensive expertise to ensure that the company has everything it needs running in the right order to be successful.
Janet Harris
Janet is another hugely experienced writer, with three decades of freelance experience working on a number of titles across many industries. She comes to brite to work as Senior Editor, helping to ensure that the business has the right authors of the necessary quality to successfully launch the company.
Emma White
Emma is our Public Relations and Social Media Manager, dealing with every aspect of publicity and PR, both online and offline.
